Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become Alpha? In this hierarchy, you don't need to be 'born' into the position. But you do need to be 'born' into the pack. You are a pup, and you move up the totem pole to a Theta {Warrior}. Then, if you're strong and well fitted, you'll become one of four Zeta. If the Delta either becomes Alpha, dies, retires, or is unable to perform in any way, a SINGLE Zeta will become Delta. Then once the Alpha retires, dies, or is unable to perform in any way the Delta becomes Alpha.
What are Zeta? Zeta is normally a four wolf team filled with strong individuals that could survive on their own for months on end if needed to. Like the 'super' squad of the pack, as well as their spies. Basically skill bundled up into one package. The Zeta have their own hierarchy, normally going by seniority. Whoever has been Zeta the longest, is at the top of the group. Normally the one to become Delta once the time comes. Nothing is to hold you back, and you are to follow commands to the line.
Breeding Privileges in this Hierarchy? The Alpha can breed whenever HE wants. It's normally not accustom that a FEMALE Alpha gets pregnant unless her mate is the Alpha Male. Though if a female leader does get pregnant without an Alpha Male, the Delta will temporarily take over during her leave.
Beta's, normally they are a couple, and may breed in opposite seasons than the Alphas, therefore not interfering with the competition for litters.
Zeta are not allowed to breed with each other, female Zeta's are NOT allowed to have puppies. Male Zeta's may breed with Theta's, unless the Alpha/ Beta female APPROACHES them. Theta, rather strict breeding, only allowed with the Alpha's ok. May only breed with each other unless approached by a higher ranked.
Epsilon, female, isn't allowed to have pups. For she can't take care of herself properly, not to mention the rest of the pack. If the Epsilon is a male, he may breed though have no lasting relationships.
Omega's are NOT allowed to breed, though if a litter does appear, it is up to the Alpha's to decide whether to slaughter the litter or not.
Under no circumstances is a female allowed to breed with a rogue male. The pups will be slaughtered and so will the male. Male wolves can breed with rogue females though, as long as the female doesn't join the pack.
How does the Heirarchy work?
Greek Hierarchy
Alpha - Leaders Beta - Keeps Order Epsilon - Healer Delta - General Zeta - Elite Thata - Warriors Sigma - Apprentices Omega - Everyone Else
Can i create a rogue or loner or does my character have to be in the Yusten pack? of course! rogues and loners are always welcome. we've always accepted them. they're interesting and help create mini-plots running alongside the main one.
i would love to join but i've never role played before. any tips? try to make your posts long and accurate (though not too long). describe everything and try to include the five senses. vary your vocabulary and paragraphs. always include your wolf's thoughts on the situation (sometimes these can relate to past experiences). although you're trying to show off with your writing skills try to make the post interesting and not some 2000 word long essay (they can be tiring to read).
